Mind you saying that with the HID's that would drastically reduce the need for main beam anyway wouldn't it?

No, the dipped beams point down and towards the curb so you still need to use your main beams.

Most german manufactures are now fitting bi-Xenon HID bulbs which give both dipped and main using the same unit - either by moving the bulb or a shutter moving in front of the bulb to direct the beam.

i think the reason why they dont use the hid for main beam is because they dont give full illuminance from a cold start ,

maybe the reason the germans are using the same unit to do both

That's right. When you switch them on you can see the brightness increasing in the first few seconds.

Prices........My supplier is getting me a firm quote on Tuesday. Just got to work out the postage to OZ. You will have to pay duty on top. If we say its a present does that help
