Nothing (I am assuming you have a UK licence!) The only thing you can get caught by in France are mobile speed traps in which case you will get a on the spot fine. The fine varies depending on the severity of the offence :driving:

Sorry to say this mate, but don't rest easy. The french authorities are in touch with DVLA and a fine may find its way to you after about 2 months. We had an ex employee flashed outside Le Havre and we got a ticket sent to us requesting the driver name address etc cos it was a hire van, so dont be too surprised if you get one.

Its the same with parking tickets too Im afraid.

But what happens if a foriegner speeds over here...............NOTHING!

knowing the french system ( and the french) it will go 2 ways:

a - you will never hear or see anything about it because of the paper work

b- you will get someone that will bother chasing the ticket thru to the UK and you will recieve a fine - cross border fines are possible within europe.

but 98% will be answer A

what speed were u doing and in what zone?? and where

Most likely nothing, however, should you get stopped in France they will have the unpaid fine on record. You'll get asked to pay it on the spot.

Thanks for the reassurance. I was doing 110kph in what turned out to be a 90kph zone. Wide open road nothing for miles in either direction then "Flash!"

Funny how their cameras get you from the front rather than the back though.
