Boot Release

Just paid £140 for a new key (transponder), the boot doesnt release /activate from the key...............i've always had the problem but assumed that it might have been due to the old key............must be a problem within the car ....anyone any ideas?? Ta will

I take it the central locking is working from the key? Does the internal release work for the boot?

Sorry to point out the obvious, if its owt like the IS200 key you have to press and hold the boot release button for it to work (had to look in the manual to find out how it worked when I first got mine)

Yes the internal boot release works from the lower dash and the central locking works from the key...............bit of a mystery......does the boot have a separate sensor??

I need to double check the UK CBEST settings but you may be able to disable the remote boot release. I know you can change the 2 second hold to just a normal press or a double press. Maybe the last owner had the setting changed.

Yeah, i've tried holding the button down on the key as well? no joy

Thanks chaps, took it to Lexus Hatfield and they changed the settings....I dont really understand what they did, but I said what Colin said and they seemed to understand :D

Just found my CBEST settings list - the UK cars have 4 options for the remote boot release : off, hold 0.8 second, 1 press, double press.

The list you are refering to is for US cars. Some of the options are not available on UK cars.

I asked Lexus GB for a list and after a couple of months they managed to gather all the information and send it to me. Unfortunatly they also told me that the list is not normally released to the public and asked me not to distribute it.

I'll try and find the US list and post that.
