Gear Level Movement During Acceleration

Hi i've just joined, because i am in the market to buy an Is200. I've wanted one for ages and this is my chance to buy.

I have driven a couple of cars. One thing i have noticed is that the gear level wobbles when i accelerate and i can feel vibration in it at idle. Is this normal?

The second car i drove is from a dealer, can i insist they sort it before i buy?

Don't know if this is a common problem - I had it very slightly in mine and the quickshift I fitted just emphasises the problem and it vibrates like crazy in 6th - is that the sort of thing you mean?

To be honest I only really get the problem in sixth gear?

It sounds like it is the same thing, although i never got the car into sixth on my test drive.

My worry was that the gearbox or linkage was on the way out. Since it doesn't appear to be a common problem. I'll get the dealer to sort it before i buy it.
