they have done it with lots of 5mm leds,, and a 'slight' longer exposure,

i have been in contact with the guys at lextech, and have even purchased the leds they have used, there are even pictures of how they have done them, basically it involves sodlering 5 or so leds in place and bending them into position to point at the light pick up points.. for those that want ot try themselves...see here

not that easy, ive tried and couldnt be ar :tsktsk: sed in the end.. although if you send them your gauge they will do it for you..

i will have another crack at it, as this method is a lot cheaper than mine..
