Tte Illuminated Scuff Plates

we all know its not very good, both of my now dont light up any more, i wonder if its possible to convert it with LED instead? will that make it last a bit longer? any electronic wizard here can answer this?

one of mine went off, but I found it out to be a loose wire.

you wouldnt be able to use LED's I dont think because of the space needed for them.

that seems to be the case. best thing to do is get someone with a multimeter to test them.

where is the best place to get those inverters then Brett? i bet lexus dealer charge alots for it....and also how did you make you rear plates illuminate too?

Inverters can br ordered from many places on the net

and places like www.cpc.co.uk

but I have never had to order any myself so maybe someone else will have a better Idea??

the rear scuffs are front ones that I cut down to fit, and I wired them into the ignition barrel light so they come on when any of the doors open.
