LennyLexus 7
A mate of mine has fallen in love with the old SC after seeing this!! Could someone tell me what year it is? And what are the options for manual soarers, are they rocking horse :tsktsk: ? Is it possible to source that bodykit in the UK and what are the tuning options (within the uk)? Steve 3,831
manuals are rare.. but in 12 months i have come across about 4 of them Best have one imported See AltezzaScott .. he may be able to help. I had a manual which is now in stockholm... very quick... and I am missing it now
soramad 13
hi raz from that picture it is very difficult to determin the year of that vehicle as it has been so heavily modified , the rear lights are post 94 but could have been added as a mod , pity that a frontal picture is not available . tt's and 3 ltrs are the easiest to upgrade performance wise ,the V8 can be modified but to a lesser exstent . i like the auto version as it is quicker off the mark than a manual under normal driving conditions . see you at jae later this month , keep smiling , and regards to your father

From the picture, what does it look like has been done? From what I can gather, Bodykit, Wheels, Lowerin and job. My mate doesnt want a auto what so ever. He is looking at RX7s and 944s. See you and Tracy at JAE ;) Steve what is the 0-60 and bhp on the manual? I take it the 2.5tt is only available in manual? Will send Scot a pm or get Dan to sign up and do it himself
Steve 3,831
2.5tt is mainly auto.. but they made some manuals The manual is better in a way.. very easy to sell on later plus the usual advantages. I have a video of me poweing my TT somehwere on this forum.. I have quite a bit actually
LennyLexus 7
so which other ones are available in manual?
ColinBarber 1,939
Not sure if the 3l can have manual. I'm sure the V8 is auto only.
UKPulse 0
As far as I know, manual was only ever an option on the 2.5 model. All the 2.5's make 280bhp with 0-60 in the mid sixes for the TT and in the low sixes for the VVTi (suposedly)
Matthew_McNally 1
you can always check out Jon's VVTI Turbo SC300 - just dyno'd at 509 rwhp ;)

soramad 13
raz that small (in my opinion unsightly) grill on the front of the bonnet indicates that it is a post 98 , ca'nt really see what is on the side but if it is "limited" then its a V8 ,intrestingly there are no turning lights or badges visible probably due to the fact it has a new front ,this aside its a nicely prepared motor and someone some where has spent a lot of money on it . Chris Skelton 253
:D Only trouble with RED coupes is they are police magnets! (Well, the other trouble is that it's so easy to cruise at excessive speeds!) Will you guys STOP posting pictures of gorgeous Soarers here! I'm getting tempted to sell my nice conservative LS400 and go for one! Same engine, cooler car! There'ds a nice one on e-bay now....if I had a spare space.....
Carlos_SC 0
You should :D That car is a 94/95/96 with a post 97 front bumper fitted. Its a V8, so probably little mods done. Apart from exhaust, probably just the normal exhaust headers, air filter, and possibly chipped (expensive from Japan!). Could be supercharged or bored/stroked, but not many around like that! 3 ltr and 4ltr were only auto, and TT were optional manual, though not that many around. Tuning is the usual turbo stuff...intake and exhaust first, probably have to have boost control. Then think about new turbos, and 350Bhp+ is (relatively) easy! Turbo specialists are quite capable of tuning Soarers as much as any other turbo cars! Pre-97 cars are twin turbo, and post-97 are single turbo VVTI (although a lot are sold as twins because most people think they are all twins!), which are faster off the line and all the way up the revs, but harder to tune apparently because of the VVTI. Bodykits are a different matter!! Pretty much Japan or USA(SC400 kits) only for them. You can get a few imported with them if you look around. Oh, and I've never been pulled in my (fast) RED COUPE
LennyLexus 7
You should :DThat car is a 94/95/96 with a post 97 front bumper fitted. Certain on that Carlos? Because that SC looks ageless :o :D How much is it likely to cost to get a similar to one to above? £2000 rims £1000 coilovers £1000 bodykit £1500 respary and mods? ? Car Please correct me where I am wrong, help with me other costs.
UKPulse 0
The underlying car - for a 91/92/93 TT count on at least £5K for a good one. They can be had for £3K, but will tend to need work (type C service, gearbox service, bushes, etc.). Oh and don't forget the interior... £800 - £1K for a nice leather makeover. Then of course there's your music.... :winky:
LennyLexus 7
Then of course there's your music.... :winky: Yep, it seems like pretty impractical car, so why not make it completely impractical What is the standard system like in a SC? i'll would probably strip it all out and start fresh on one of those I think. I was looking at SCing the IS, or getting a V300 next, but now I can def see a soarer on the horizon, the V8s come with a nice interior? and TTs are cloth right? Wine Red in and out B) Depreciation on these olds SCs? will they go down anymore in a year or two?
Carlos_SC 0
You should :DThat car is a 94/95/96 with a post 97 front bumper fitted. Certain on that Carlos? Because that SC looks ageless :o :D On second thoughts....no!! I reckon it may be a 91/92/93!!! The badge on the side says 'limited' and they changed it to GT-L from 94 on. It all depends really...the rear lights say its a 94/95/96, the front bumper says its a 97on and the badge says its a 91/92/93!! So take your pick!! Its not ageless....its all the ages in one!! Most TTs came with leather aswell. There are TT's and TT-L's (limited). The TT-L's are higher spec and most came with leather, and a lot of TT's came with it aswell. The standard stereo is pretty good, but a lot of bits were options. Sub, changer, amps, DAT, in-dash CD...all options. Most came with changer, sub and extra amps though. If you get a sub in the car, you'll find that the sound is pretty decent, but its not all that loud, so it depends what you want. If you look after a Soarer, then it shouldn't depreciate much, though obviously a bit. They can't go down much more! Have a look here for a lot of info and all the bodykits that I know of. Its on the US SC400 and 300, but a lot of info is similar to Soarers. Oh, and good luck finding a red one
