Co. Cars And Opting Out

I wonder if anyone can offer any advice on the following:

I am entitled to a company car, but the company introduced about 18 months ago an opt out scheme where by you get a cash allowance each month.

There has been a freeze on ordering new cars, but I have in writing that it is not the case if you wish to 'opt out'.

I had the opertunity to get an IS200 through my wifes company(toyota, as part of their employee scheme) so ordered one.

I got agreement from my line manager, got my forms signed off by my MD (we are part of a much larger company).

I arranged with our transport department to have my car old collected and thought that was that.

However, I have just been informed by our HR Director(in a friendly chat) that until my form is Authorised by him, no money will be forthcoming (and that includes back dated payments).

It transpires that this freeze on new cars also includes 'opting out' cars as well, so he wont be signing the form anytime soon....

I am pretty agreived about this,as at no time was this communicated to me had that been the case, I would not have commited myself to the Lex, or arranged to have my old one sent back.

By the time this is sorted out I will be seriously out of pocket (currently 'owed'4 months in arears).

Have I got a case to go on?

-I was told I could opt out

-I was told that the 'freeze' on new cars didnt apply to 'opting out'

-Our transport department arranged to collect my old car, knowing full

well I now had a new car.

Sorry if its a bit long, just trying to remember all the facts!

Thanks,

Jason

If you have it in writing you could have a case, but I think only for the 1st 2 points.
