Lexus Service - Brake Pads

Recommended Posts

Just handed in my car for a 40K service + MOT and a pair of brake pads need replacing (even though the car has done 4k of miles in 1 year since I bought it, hmmm.....)..

They want about £100 quid straight up - that sounds a little steep, is it guys?

I'm trying to get 'em to respray the bonnet for free, it's proving hard though!

may be worth looking at the pads to see if they are low. I've been told before I have low pads and when I've looked they have 50% left.

They may also say they need doing if they won't last the 10,000 miles to the next service, but if you are only doing 4,000 miles then they may well last.

What they tend to do is work to the opinion that they wont see you for 10k miles for the next service.

I've just had my discs & pads cleaned by a local garage for £20 and they told me my pads were good for 5k

Much cheaper to buy the pads & get a reputable tyre / brake centre to fit them - I am!
