Setting The Date

Last night I took my car for just a drive. When I started it, there was a memo on the EMV, great! Didn't understand what it said, but it made me think about what happened on 21st of july. It's my fathers birthday. Immediately called him, to hear that the date of my car is wrong... It's a day ahead. I do have one of those english translations of the japanese EMV handbook (have the original Japanese as well LOL), but it doesn't explain how to set the date. I pressed most of the buttons, but nothing made sense. Does anybody have an idea how to change this?

By the way, the ECT button in my car isn't lit. Is that normal or is the light gone?
