so let me get this straight.

i can use my 3630? i'll need a satnav receiver? and i'll need some software to locate myself on the map and figure out directions?

does navman make the receivers and tom tom the software?

yes you can use your Ipaq but the memory space is too small for GPS maps so you;ll need a Compact Flash adapter Jacket for the ipaq a 128 (very minimum) memory card for map data and a GPS receiver thats compatible with the software of your choice.

I got the Navman GPS sleeve because it has the CF slot and GPS and a method to hold the whole lot onto my windscreen in one package.

you should be able to pick up what you need on eBay quite cheap now.

also I have a newer faster 400mhz Ipaq with windows mobile 2003 and its no faster than my old Ipaq with GPS software, so your Ipaq will do just fine. :)
