New Alloys

Im now in the market for some real nice 18" o even 19" alloys. I want to develop the "touring car" look with nice big rims, a bit of negative camber and some lowering.

The more you look at the web for wheels, the more choic you have, and its hard to find the right ones.

Ive been told that the Diablo, RVRII, K2 and Omega wheel range do a 19x7.5 with an offset of 45 which fit the IS200 nicely. Does anyone else have 19's and what are they like with the car lowered??

any suggestions would be welcome.

i think you'll have to get your arches rolled if you go for 19's pete.

I might go for a wide body aswell - who knows, so long as it looks mean

proper bad boy!!!!!!

point me in the direction of the wheels you fancy for you know what mate

my 18s do feel fantastic, stbility wise... but the 17"s ;ast longer on these uneven bumpy Uk roads.. Hit a big pot hole and your 18 is finished...

In fact had to swap on of the slightly buckled front to rear on mine to solve a little steering wobble... be carefull.. especially 19's

Pete,

Mine are 19x 8.5

The ride is fantastic but the wheels are very heavy and I think it affects the performance a little. Saying that, if you go for the 7.5 width they should be lighter than mine.

When I first fitted mine the car was lowered on -40 springs and the arches weren't rolled. It did't catch even with 4 adults in.

However, I then lowered it 4.5 inches on coilovers, so i had to do a little grinding

Mines are 19*8 with Eibach springs => No arch rolling needed , it should go 2cms lower IMO (waiting for coiloovers at the mo :) )

Only advice : don't go bigger than 235/35R19 tires for front, it will touch the arch liner when turning :(

  • 2 weeks later...
I got my 8*19s on before I went away, unfortunately I didn't have time to get it lowered.  Looks sweet though.  I went for 215/35*19s to make sure they fitted after having an earlier disapointment.

Any pics?

Sorry, I don't. I was going to get it lowered before I took any pics and then I went away. I wish I did have pics though.
