Replacement Oil

Steve there isn't Lexus oil. Each dealer puts in their own choice. Some use Shell others Esso etc. Some may use fully synthetic and others only semi. Lexus only give a minimum specification that needs to be used.

Whatever they use they normally charge more than you can purchase it for yourself (even though they get it for a fraction of the cost) so supply your own.

do lexus have any problems when you supply your own oil

i presume a 5litre can is enough

I've never had a problem with a Toyota or Lexus dealer using your own oil.

4.5l will do on the IS200.

Will it need more oil with an oil cooler fitted?

You would need the capacity of the cooler and pipework on top of the engine capacity, that's if the cooler is also drained or the cooler drains by itself when the engine is and not just sit in the cooler.
