Alloy Wheels Warranty

My standard alloys were replaced when I got my car, June 2003, It's a late 2000 model. However they seem to be bubbling and stuff after only ever being washed with water (no soap or shampoo) and polished often! The car has only done 6000 miles in the time I've had it.

Will they repair them now or have I had it?

Same happened to mine. Dealer swapped them - no questions asked.

I am so surprised on visiting this site there are so many alloy wheel corrosion problems. I assumed I was the only one with bubbling on well looked after wheels. Obviously not... I am off to the dealership. Two year old IS 200 sport with 16000 miles/ :P

Not sure whether to be surprised by this or not. Before the lex I had an 01 Celica and had all 5 wheels on that changed twice under warranty in the 3 years that I owned it.

The first time they were changed, the new ones looked exactly like the originals - second time round the coating looked very much better (that was in March this year). Maybe Toyota have finally fixed the problem? Lexus dealer claims that the new wheels they're now getting look much better too.

Oh that is interesting. Hopefully if mine are changed they will be the superior quality. I didnt realise that the wheels would be covered under warranty in this way, so am pleased to see alll this info. After all, it is an expensive car, so you expect quality, and mine has only done 16000 in two years, basically around town.I must say though, apart from the corrosion, it is a gorgeous car in every way.
