Tyre Time Again....

Sorry boys and girls, I know this has been done before, but I thought I'd just try and tap the font of knowledge that is this forum.

My IS came with Bridgestone RE 040 fitted. These will need changing soon. My local tyre fitter has Michelin Pilot Sport going cheap (much cheaper than the best price I can find for the 040's being on Blackcircle.com).

Does anyone use these? Are they good / bad?

I think Michelins are usually quite noisy - I know on my IS200 I stuck to the Dunlop SP9000s as they were quieter

I've got Pilot Sports on mine - good grip and wear quite well.

I do notice some noise on certain road surfaces - not sure how this compares with others though.

I don't have much experience with bigger tires. The Uniroyal Rainsport 1 are the first I ever had. And I like them Very much. Quite, good grip in wet and dry conditions and not to expensive.

225/40R18 is about 150Euros/each in Germany.
