Is300 Tyres And Brakes

My IS 300 has just had the 20,000 service. I am my SECOND set of tyres and the service report stated that the front were showing signs on wear and would need replacing soon. I was also told that the front breaks needed replacing. The tyres were fitted in February this year and have not even reached 10,000 miles. I was told be tyre dealer that I should expect between 15 and 20K miles but the dealer thought, that because of the weight of the car, the type of tyres (Bridgestone Potenza) should be questioned. A set of tyres every 10K miles is expensive and in my view not acceptable. The Lexus dealership have confirmed that tracking and balance is within spec.

Anyone have similar situation?.

Further to the issue of tyre wear here are answers to comments made by others:

The pressures are as per the Lexus specification. This was checked, as was the tracking, by Lexus and an independant specialist. The tyres start with outside/ inside wear and then the warning trip shows up. In January I changed all four tyres because all 4 showed the same degree of wear. At present the front are beginning to shopw outside wear at 20K. miles. Lexus were surpriosed and thought these tyres were the original. Please note that these are low profile and this is my first experience of low profile.

The IS300 runs a slight negative camber on the front wheels which will result in unevern wear across the face. You should rotate the front and rear wheels every 3000 to 4000 kms to get the best wear rate. I have managed to get 35,000 kms from a set of Bridgestone Potenza REO50 (which I highly recommeded). I'm running 33psi all round.
