Car Wouldnt Start !

Got in the car to go shopping with Mrs "BMW's are better" Ellen.....turned key started died,started died

Jumped in BMW off we went

Came back thought i'd try once more before opening the lid..........started perfectly :duh:

Any clues what it could be ?

Short run and wet weather conditions can cause this.

Its normal. Just hold the key till it runs. Think its to vent the cylinders and get the condens out of it.

high compression engines can flood really easily if they only run for a little while when cold

Dave, this is sort of what happened to me when I tried installing the HID's a few weeks back.

Car wouldn't start, sounded totally dead. Left it an hour while waiting for the RAC man to come and she started first time.

He mentioned something about the IS charging itself back up, but that never explained what caused it to go flat in the meantime!!!!

Mine took three attempts to start the other day when it had been very wet weather. Realised afterwards that the kids had left the interior light on since the day before too. Ah little treasures

been told moisture in the cylinder head can cause the problem....
