Work Finished On Is200 Turbo

Hi mates.... we finished our work on my Mini-Monster :blush:

We got a problem... the ECU makes a fuel-cut over 0.25bar of boost.

But when you take care with your gas-foot, you can hold it at this boost level

and it pulls very great.

Don't know what we can do.... maybe a fuel cut defender will help.

We will see.

Hmm... my friend and me installed it, but it's not that easy as it looks like on the pics.

It took about 6 hours for the oil works alone.

The intercooler working about 1 day.

Nothing really fits as it should, you have to cut, bend or screw something evrywhere and at every part.

Oh and for RHD models it's even harder because of the power steering and such.

Well, I wouldn't do that by myself if I weren't a bit experienced in such things.

Every hour you get another surprise which thing f*cks with you or what doesn't really fit without some custom work.

All in all it took about 5-6 days for us, because we don't have a professional

workshop like TDI or such.

I believe I've read on here somewhere that the ECU cannot cope with positive manifold pressure and is the reason the piggy back controller is needed for the supercharger. I'm sure someone with a bit more knowledge will be along soon ...

The sensor tells to the ECU a positive pressure and the ECU thinks that there

must be an error so it changes to the emergency-program and cuts off the fuel.

So we'd need a fuel cut defender or any other piggy back, which tells to the ECU

that everything is OK.

The S-AFC doesn't help there. :crying:

I will be useing Greddy Emanage with the Profec E-O1 by useing this setup, it should run & work 100% :winky:

Not sure.... the S-AFC put out a correction of +5% of fuel at 0.2bar and the O2 gauge shows 12:1 Lambda.

We will see what happens after I can go over 0.5bar.

At the moment it runs quite good at 0.25bar or such and pulls far better than before.

Got it! :D

We solved the fuel-cut problem.

The MapUnit was wong connected. We also spliced the S-AFC in series and not parallel.

Today I removed the S-AFC wires and tried..... WOOHOO!!!..... 0.5bar boost.

BUT..... :excl: :o :nuke: 16-17:1 Lambda......

I spliced the S-AFC parallel and look there.... I got a Lambda of 12-13:1, perfectly for Turbo. :blush:

For HiThr I put +28% of fuel and it runs rich enough.

The max I can do is +50%, so if I want I could raise boost level with the boost controller.

But *** da*n.... that baby pulls..... very hard.... simply wow.... :whistling:

Tomorrow we will fine-tune the AF ratio and adjust the boost controller.

Then we will see.....

Nice one mate, managed to get those vids and it sounds great, bet you're very impressed with this lot?!

Wish I knew what I was doing so I could install my own kit, but I struggle changing the windscreen washer fluid :lol:

Nice one RR i new you would get there in the end :winky: I got my Turbo from the US today and i have to say it is f:tsktsk:ing big :lol: i will get some pic,s up soon, all i need now is the manifold, as i have the intercooler, Emanage & profec E-01 on its way & the BOV is all so on its way :whistling:

I noticed in 4th gear and higher speeds, that I can reach a boost level of only 0.3bar. Maybe it opens the wastegate or the high-rev straight 6 needs at high rpm more air, than the turbo can support, but I think it's another problem.

At lower gears and speed it flies away you can't believe.

Hi RR, yes it is a custom job, ie! im buying bit by bit, when i have the cash, this way i get what i want. right now i have T4 Turbo, Greddy Timer, Greddy Emanage+Profec E-01,HKS Bov,Oil cooler,

so all i need to get now is the Intercooler & Manifold, i think i will be geting the intercooler from the US, the manifold is a big :question:

so all in all its looking good, i will not tell you the prices as you would start to :crybaby: :winky:

its comeing long nice, i can all so fit it but i will need some help with the Emanage & E-01 as i would not know where to start with them ;)

Yesterday we tried to adjust the AF ratio..... very strange thing we noticed.

The Lambda is OK up to 4000rpm, suddenly it raises up to 17:1 or more,

at about 5000rpm it gets down to 13-14:1 which is OK.

It seems like any electronic problem.

Maybe the MapUnit or anything responds a bit too slow.

In first gear everything is OK from 1000-6500rpm... in second quite OK

and the higher the gear the worse the Lambda at 4000rpm.

Maybe really a fuel system problem, but why gets the Lambda OK again at 5000rpm??

Well, but when shifting into 2nd or 3rd gear we have a power lag at 4000rpm,

so we couldn't take a 0-60 time.

Don't really know where the problem could be now....

Maybe we can solve it via ECU or such, or other injectors, or we really would have

to upgrade the fuel system?!?!? :duh:

We will see... ;)

Hi guys!

Yesterday I got my car back from workshop.

What they did do??

They bolted paddle clutch and light flywheel. :blush:

H*ll that thing pulls.... it feels like I wouldn't need the first gear any more.

It's like *wrrooOOAAMM* TSSHH!! *wrrooOOAAMM* and does wheel spin up to red line in both gears.

"Sh!t that rocks!" I was like B)

It revs really really quick now.... the first gear is like nothing now.

The engine revs also really quick in higher gears, the engine start is quicker, shifting down from 3rd to 2nd is not that hard as before, you don't need to step on the gas for longer time..... a short step is enough now.

The clutch isn't undrivable.... it's quite a bit hard and stronger than the stock one.

My first run out of the workshop was:

--> neutral, get on the clutch, start engine, put in 1st gear and then like always...

...... *QQUUIIIEEEEK!!!"* :blink:

"Wow..... really hard!"

Wheels immediately began to spin on the tiled floor in the workshop.

But after a couple of tries I checked the new clutch-feeling and it worked really good.

It's a kind of race clutch yes, but not impossible to drive.

I can handle it and like it very much.

Of course I have to take care a bit when driving on snow, but no problem.

It's cool! :whistling:

I'm happy to have choosen that setup!!

It begins to get a real racecar..... :lol:
