Toyo Tyre Killed

took the car out last week

drove about 2 miles

when i stopped i noticed rear tyre was flat

felt no difference in driving at all

pumped it up at a garage, and it stayed up for a couple of days

took it off saturday and found a screw had gone in

took it to the tyre shop,

was told i need a new tyre!!

the inside wall was shredded and rubber shavings were everywhere :crying:

they reckon driving on a flat will damage a tyre however small the distance

an expensive lesson learnt, as this tyre has only covered about 500 miles

must check tyres before driving !!

Guess you're lucky in a way that nothing bad did happen to you when it did go mate - I'd be well ****** off if that happened to me though, but then again, tyres are replaceable.

Have you got the new one on now then?

I was on the goodyear F1s for 4 years with no punctures and since i've been on the Toyos for 9 months i've had 1 puncture and now i have a slow leak on the other side needing pumping up every week. Gonna get it sorted tomorrow. Must be a soft compound or something?

Just luck I think. I remember many years ago my dad hadn't had a punture for 3 years and then got 3 in one day! One on the way to work, swapped that out with the spare, he worked for BA so got the guys who fix aircraft tyres to repair the tyre during the day and then got two puntures on the way home. He had to walk the last mile home and borrow a wheel from a neighbor
