Hi,

Going away for a while and need the best advice to park my car. I need to find out if there is a better option to pulling the handbrake up and leaving for a week or so? The car will be parked on a very near flat parking slot (it has a small downwards slope)

Is it better to leave the handbrake on or use the gears or any other ideas would be nice?

Leaving the handbrake on for a week won't do it any harm. The cars are parked up for months when they are brand new in some compound somewhere!!

I left my AUTO IS200 for about 12 days, with just the handbrake on, in my garage.

Though if it's left out on the street, and it's manual - I'd consider using both handbrake, and leaving it in reverse - or 1st gear.

left mine parked over a month with the handbrake on, don,t find it a problem at all leaving the handbrake on., and it started no problem after all that time :P

With autos I thought you had park which locks the transmission ..........

Park on autos is like a brake. It shouldn't go anywhere if it's in the Park position
