No Sound

Got in the car this morning and no sound from the stereo,

It turns on,

Cd plays so does tape and radio comes on but the aerial does not come up and I have no sound from any speakers any ideas on what it could be.. sounds like it could be a fuse or the amps gone.. If the amps gone can i just wire in a new one or is there more that needs to be done ???

Would have thought its a blown fuse...............with the arial not working

yeah My first thought but buggered if i can find a fuse marked up.. not sure where to look for it I know you have the big one at the back of the stereo but if that one went the the stereo would not come on at all

Criag, try looking for the fuse that feeds the amp mate, it may control the aerial

found the fuse for the ariel..it was a 15amp one that also does the rear cigar lighter.. so now the ariel comes up.. but still no sound... so had a look at all the fuse's and found a 25amp one blown in the main fuse box.. marked as RAD1 so i guess thats the radio.. So i tried to put another one in but as soon as it touched i had blue sparks.. so what could be causing it.. ?? a bad earth somewhere??

do you have a problem with water getting into the boot as it may be that water has got into the amp causing a short circuit

funny enough i do have a leak but i checked around the amp and it seems all dry around that area.. will have another look..
