cars that run (rich) like the supercharged will have sooty exhaust, its normal for this to happen, you can sort it by getting the fueling sorted on rolling road, sorting the ecu out ect ect, thats why am going to the rolling road in stockport on the 20th chris to see what its running like ?

I don't know of any Japanese car that doesn't run way too rich under closed loop conditions, and the is200 is no exception.

The standard superchargered models has near perfect open loop A/F until you start to modify the installation, when it starts to become lean.

The closed loop cycle is most idling and cruising conditions.

Mark, when you say modify the installation do you mean basic stuff like the TDI induction and exhaust etc or more advanced mods such as ECU, TDI Stage 1 / 2 upgrade etc?

TIA
