02 IS 200 differences

Recommended Posts

I've had my new IS200 SE for a week now and it's great.

However I understand that 200's from 02 onwards have some minor differences in trim, so far this is all I can tell:-

Front door speakers have chrome surround trim

New Chrome exhaust tailpipe (not the sport sleeve)

front Grille has only 3 bars

taillights are smoked

Curtian airbags as standard

not sure if the seat belt tensioners and the EBA are new on an SE too

Anyone aware of more changes ?

Apparentely, according to the Lexus engineer, the '02 cars are stricter on emisions. He said the acceleration might not be quite as good as a result.

The '02 also get EBD aswell i think.

With beige interior, the glove box and lower dash are beige aswell instead of black.

Boot lid spoiler on Sport has brake light in it instead of rear window.

Different coloured stitching on beige interior seats.

Triple jet washer nozzles.

Door mirror heaters on rear window heater switch instead of on all the time.

Econometer and temp dials reversed - and econometer more jumpy.

Very Very black dash / console - no goldy bits any more.

Smooth backface to wheels.

DVD nav with bigger screen and fixed controls.

Car park ticket holder on sunvisor.

Double door locking operation more complicated.
