Hiya everyone, i would like to upgrade my IS200 wheels from 17" to 18". I have found a set of 18" X 7.5J +49 offset 5X114.3 P.C.D. wheels. Will this set of wheels fit into my IS200 SE? My car has not been lower down but I still worry about rubbing the suspension pieces... ;) If it does, what's the best size of tires to fit in?

cheers,

SAM

standard offset is 50mm ,but thats with 7" wide wheels but they are pretty close and would imagine you will be fine

could allways use a spacer if they are too close

make sure the centre bore is correct 60.1mm

and that the dish of the wheel is big enough to clear the calipers

225 x 40 x 18 is what most people use , although you can use 225 x 35 x 18 for a bumpy ride

Are you sure the offset is 50?  my 3 sets of wheels have 45 stamped in the back of them!

they were my thoughts

untill i read this

QUOTE FROM THE ONE AND ONLY MR T.GOOSE

Can probably get some of the mounting face machined off to increase the offset.

Might run in to problems with clearance on brakes though ...

Oh, and offset on standard wheels is 50 not 45 (common misconception).

Or at least that's what's stamped on the backface of all the ones i've had.

mmm......

I used to think they were 45 too until i looked for myself.

All i could find was 50... and i've checked several wheels too now.

Most recently one of mats wheels i brought back from Germany.

I tried to measure it but proved difficult with the tyre still on.

Anyway, 45.. 50.. not much in it.. what's 5mm between friends :)
