Sat Nav

Recommended Posts

I am want to purchase a sat nav system that can be swapped from one car to another

Two I have seen so far are the Quest sat nav which has 243MB internal system European CD and can be used anywhere

The 2nd is an Acer N30 blue tooth system with 256 SD card with UK maps included and £20 cheaper

Has any one here know anything about these two products

Which product should I go for

Thanks in anticipation

Peter

just brought a garmin quest £299 +vat from makro

does the job

very easily moved from one car to another

not really a fixed item more a portable item

cant really be hard wired in

easy to enter addresses

hasnt let me down

good at recalculating route if you divert, doesnt try and put you back on the same route , but works out a new one

nice and small

fits in pocket

about size of mobile phone

doesnt need power supply, and will work all day without

as i found out .... the wifes ciggy lighter doesnt work

can be used for walking, and on boats

covers all of uk and europe

has instructions and discs , will read them soon

but is really easy to set up

had it working in the car park at makro`s

yes i am happy with it !!

why dont you go the Navman ICN510 -

its a good system.....and works well in the car and on the move,

you can fix to the car or have it in your pokect - and it looks

smart..

Okay it cost's a little more ...(£420) but what a system

had all good news so far (if not please state)

TomTom Go -

Nice, dose the job, colour, voice Com,

But dose it do anything to Lexus????

Yes it makes it look tackie.....a big rounded thing....

well thats what i think - it dose not do justice in some cars.....ie

Lexus,Merc,BMW, and so...

It looks good in a Ford-Kia,Fiesta,Cosa, and so on........

ive got a pda with tom tom software and use it mainly in my van for couriering and have found it to be excellent.

It saves me alot of time and fuel as i go straight to the place i want to.

i can easily take it out of my van and put it into the lexus as well

I've got one of those Medion Pocket PCs with built-in GPS and Nav software. Only 250 quid from Aldi but they always seem to be in short supply.

Got one of these for the wife (shows how simple they are to use) Great package

with extra maps of Europe and fully portable to another vehicle. Great value for money and good warranty. The PDA being a great + point.
