Aircon Problem

A friend at work has bought a 97 P reg Rover 620 SDi and the air con doesn't appear to be working in that it doesn't blow ice cold air like it should.

When the A/C button is pressed the green light illuminates but thats about it. There doesn't seem to be any sound of the compressor kicking in or the engine revs don't fluctuate like they would on another car when the A/C kicks in.

I don't have any experience of Rover cars so I thought someone on here may have had one in the past and know whats wrong with it?

Thanks

Gavin

I had this problem as well with my Rover 416. I think it was because i didn't use it very often. This of course was just one of the many things to go wrong on my Rover - that is why i traded it in for the Lex :whistling:

From looking around on the web you're probably right. Apparantly this is a common fault of Rover aircon systems if they are not used often enough. I wonder would he get away with a regas?
