I have an is200 se 2001, will a gs300 2004 sat nav disk work in mine or are they different?

Think it depends on if the car is early or late 2001. DVD based Sat Nav was introduced in late 2001 on the IS in which case the GS disc should work?

tried this with Col, and there was a problem trying to use my 2001 IS DVD in Col's GS.

But - if I remember correctly, thats because Colin needed a different version to update his firmware - not because the IS / GS DVD's were incompatable.

There are different generations of the DVD nav unit. Discs are not compatible between them. GS vehicles (and probably other models) manufactured before July 2001 use Gen 1.

The part numbers on the DVD case, the ones on the disc aren't the numbers you use to order, will increment for each revision. If the number is completly different then it won't work. e.g. for Gen 1 08664-50861, 08664-50862, 08664-50863, 08664-50864 etc.

Order your DVDs from your dealer based on the chassis number of your vehicle.

I tried it, but didnt work as mine is cd-rom and the gs is dvd-rom. Got price today from lexus bolton £140 inc :)
