Cold Engine

hi guys, i want to as one thing. Do you feel so hard that engine is cold after standing in <0 degrees? i mean no high revs, city driving and it looks that i am driving lexus with 1.3L engine. It has no power at all! Is something wrong? because it is getting worse

So it means something is wrong with the car. Damn, today car is worse than ever, i floored the gas pedal in 3rd gear and car choked! Air filter is new, spark plugs are ok, what else? Should i cry or what?

It seems to have a special ECU-Mode when engine is cold. No high revs or full throttle allowed.

The engine has to reach 45°C first. Then it switches to normal mode.

This is what I know. Feel free to correct me.

I hope it is that thing, but still, something wrong with the power when it is warm. Going for diagnosis tomorrow, but somehow i know that it will show nothing and will cost a lot!

It may be something to do with the fuel filter. Possibly being starved of fuel. Don't know if this would show up the ECU Diags

Thanks for replys, but the diagnosis showed nothing, when driving and lookink to computer also nothing. They said it could be, but it never happened before for lexus. They said that filter is deeply in fuel tank and very hard to reach. However i'll try to use best fuel for a month, will see if this is it.

Not something I do normally, but once the engine is warm according to the temp gauge, take the rev to near the limit, this may clear any muck that may have go into the fuel line but also may be enough to give the filter a quick clean as well. On town work, I do this to mine and the muck that gets blasted out the back WOW, but after that, everything is OK again, the engine just gets coked up if the engine is not really working.

Don't keep it on the limit for to long, just take it to the limit and then back down, let the engine calm down and sort it-self out, then try again.
