Stereo Problems!

can someone give me some advice? a 2000 W reg IS200 sports has error 3 with the cd player, (the model which is cd player is under the cassette) and i read one of the topic has mention that lexus extented its wrranty for the stereo, so can i get this fixed for free? thnx very much!!!! :)

I have a W reg 200SE and have had two new audio units fitted with no problem.

The warranty for the audio was extended by Lexus to 5 years.

i have the old style 6 disk on the second day of my having the car my cds jammed and i got an error msg in anger i hit the dash at the side (next to pasangers knee) fixed it. im looking to get a dvd head unit before it happen agean

Why bother?

It's a common problem, thats why they upped the warranty to 5yrs

Phone your lexus dealer and tell them you had a errr 3 and i'm sure they will be more than happy to replace it free of charge

Save your money for other mods :P

Yes, I have....

I bought a IS200 (on a X plate) 2 years, the car was only 2 years old and it had the new style CD unit, with the CD slot at the top and after 6 months of me purchasing the car, I had the ERR3 problem. Luckily, I had a new CD unit put in under warranty, as Lexus know that these units do fail.

So, please be aware its not just the old style CD units that fail, the new style units can also fail as well!!!
