Speeding Fine & Points

Got caught speeding yesterday (first time ever). Do I need to tell insurance company? Or can that wait till renew?

how? cops? speed camera? surely it's not on your licence yet, so it can wait...depends on the circumstances

Police speed gun on road from Excel to City Airport (coming back to Docklands). Fixed penalty, 3 points, £60 fine - licence on its way to DVLA to get points put on - does that mean when it comes back tell the insurance?

Wait till it comes and it's officially on your licence :)

You should inform the insurance but it should not affect your policy.

One speeding offence is not really major to alter your policy BUT do inform them cos at a later date if you have a bump or anything They will say that you didn't inform them and it could then affect any claim. If they say no problem over the phone I would still put it in writing to them.

Yeah, I think the fixed penalty was lucky, police man was saying that normally if you are more than 20 over the limit its off to court. + point was he didn't mention the ProLex HIDs so no problem there it seems.

Every insurance quote I've got has gone up as soon as I mentioned 3 points! Whenever I get on-line quotes I always check without the points first just to see and it always makes a difference.
