Gs300 Driving Lights

Does any one know how to adjust the inner high beam lights?, mine appear too low, thanks

are sure its not the adjustment switch in the car turned the wrong way ,that is if the mk2 has one

Thanks for the reply but the mark 2 has self levelling dipped beam headlights but I don't think the driving lamps are? The beam appears to be at the upper part of the dipped cut off with very little illumination beyond

There should be two adjusting bolts on the back of the highbeam light unit either side of the bulb connector. The bolt nearest the mainbeam unit adjusts vertical and the other horizontal.

As a correction the series II GS only has self leveling if HID lights are fitted (99-00 300 Sport and all 430 models)

Thanks for that Colin, I'll have a go! - definatley got the HID lights although I'm not as impressed with the brightness as I thought I would be! My previous Toyota Avensis GLS was superior on dip and full.

Maybe it's because there are out of alignment or the lens scratched? The HID dip beam should be much better than any car without them, I know mine are better than anything I have driven before. Full beam won't be any difference as those just use standard halogen bulbs.

Thanks Colin, I've now lifted the beam and improved the long range. I did wonder if there would be any benefit in swapping the ordinary halogen bulbs for some 'blue' type, thinking they would blend better?

You don't really want blue lights as the HIDs aren't really blue so you want white ones.

Certainly the sidelights look very odd against the white dipped beam. Nobody should really see your main beam so I don't think it's a problem.

I've tried Philips 'Bluevision' for the sidelights but they still look too yellow. I guess the best option will be PIAA Xtreme White blubs, only issue with those is they are not 'E' marked and therefore shouldn't be used on the road.

If you want to improve the performance of the main beam rather than it's appearance then you could try something like Philips VisionPlus bulbs which are meant to give 50% extra light whilst staying within the law.
