Altezza Cigarette Lighter

Hello all, as a non-smoker the fact that this does not work is not important but I tried to use the socket as a source of 12 volts no joy.

Question 1] is there a unique fuse as everything else seems ok

Question 2] is it easy to get to the power connections

i cant really help im afriad as the fuse seems ok u say?dont think there is a unique fuse. other wise i say the fuse! what are you trying to plug into it?

Hello, I am trying my mobile to recharge, nothig fancy works fine in other cars??? gds

i had this in maine a while ago - there is a fuseable link built into the bottom the the cig lighter, if that has melted then u will get no power.

u need to remove the trim around the gearstick and the remove the cig lighter and then u will see if the link is there or has melted.

Fluff, levered the lighter and ash tray out and dismantled the lighter but did not find any fusable link, where should it be.

Put a meter on the socket there was no juice with or without the motor running, help!!!! gds

the link is built into the bottom of the cig lighter socket its only about 5mm long so u can miss it - if i remember mine had a slight plastic coating.

are u getting anything from the electrical connection itself?

the fuse on my is200 for the cig lighter is in the drivers side footwell :D

will look for the fuse behind the panel, both the lights for the ashtray and the lighter work, :duh: :duh:

The fuse for the cigar lighter is sometimes the same one as the interior light

:) :) :) gord, you are correct,behind the panel to the right 0f the accelorater are 18 fuses, a label on the back of the panel identifies them all.

removed the `15a cig`and yes it had blown, replaced and presto a cig lighter that works. now i can recharge my mobile I owe you. :) :) gds
