Pro-lex 8 Groove Disks - Any Good?

Hi all,

I'm thinking of getting the Pro-Lex 8 groove front disks and Mintex pads - has anyone tried these? Looking for feedback before I spend my hard earned dosh.

I bought a set of these - very happy with them

They are MINTEX discs which have 8 grooves put in them, to aid the dispersion of the gas created on the pad material surface during heavy braking

We have sold 5 sets to date with no complaints !

Thanks for the feedback guys. Looks like I got a green light then!

Might even fit them myself - seems like an easy job. And while I'm at it, might as well tart up the calipers - in ya face red with white lettering - should show up nice on a blue car!

Just need to fix the buzzing/vibrating headlight adjuster (yep, weird but true) and get my front shocks replaced (just the standard ones) and my luvly Lexus will be back up to scratch again (except for the stonechipped bonnet and scratched paintwork that Lexus refuse to accept responsibility for - I've only got to sneeze near it and another scratch or chip appears!!)

Incidentally, does anyone paint the hub in the middle of the brake discs? I notice they are quite rusty on my standard ones. When I replace with the Mintex ones, will I need to paint or lacquer the middle bit or are they likely to be less prone to rusting? I'm on my third set of alloys and I'm really looking after these ones so I'd like to compliment them with a clean set of calipers and disks.

Hi mate, if you are geting new Discs, there will be no need to paint them, and yes its the best time to do your calipers.

I did my new discs took me about 50 mins to fit them :)
