Car Sound System

Hi

Can some please provide advice on a problem I have with my sound system.

I have IS200SE Sport W reg 2000. The radio in my car is not working correctly in the sense that I get very low volume. I have been advised by Lexus that the amplifier needs to be replaced, by it does apper to work on rare occassions.

If I need to purchase a replacement amplifier where's the best place to purchase one, as Lexus repalcement part will cost £370.00 ( Ouch !!!!!!).

One other question if I may, should this part still be under warranty.

I'm afraid it won't be under warranty on a W plate. If its working on 'rare' occaisions, might be worth checking its getting a decent earth. there might be someone with an amp to sell here, I have seen them on eBay occaisionally, and then there's salvage yards...

i've got exactly the same problem with my stereo, low volume,then working sometimes!!! only differance is mine is an S model and doesn't have an amp like in the SE (behind glovebox).

Maybe best to check earth etc before getting another amp.
