Is300

Recommended Posts

I have a creaking noise at the front of my DEC 2003 IS 300 when gently pressing and releasing the brake pedal when the vehicle is in drive with no pressure on the accelerator. I have not noticed any noise when on the move.

I am a new member. I purchased my is300 in september 2004 and was just wondering if anyone who owns an is300 is or has experienced a creaking noise over the front suspension when driving over speed bumps or on rough roads???

I had this on the rear of my IS but the noise was there almost all the time, regardless of how bad the surface was, was going to get it checked out, but then it got stolen

My 53 Plate IS200 SE makes a similar noise fron the front when you go slowly over speed bumps, uneven surfaces etc. Had shocks changed and looked at during service, but it is still there. Very annoying, feel that "quality" car shouldn't make such noises, my old IS200 s didn't make that noise. :angry:

sounds like the Anti roll bar bushes could be a little dry........

your dealer should be able to sort it no problem

its been to the dealer 8 times and in that period its had:-

* new top suspension struts

* new front shock absorbers

* new ball joints

* new anti roll bar bushes

but the noise has not disappeared?

Is there anyone out there with an IS300 that has got the same problem as me???

A creak on the front suspension?????

I am not impressed that a £28,000 car should make an embarrassing noise and I refuse to accept the dealer's explanation that it is a 'common characteristic' of the IS300.

Mine doesn't creak, so you're right - if the dealer claims it's a characteristic of the car, then they're talking bull.

Just to let you all know, my car went to the dealers on Tuesday where I had an appointment with the West Midlands area manager for lexus. After a test drive and discussion he admitted there was a fault somewhere on the front suspension and decided to replace the whole of the front suspension on both sides. This has hopefully rectified the problem long term, but unfortunately they could not pin point a specific fault.

The dealer in question were Lexus in Worcester who were extremely helpful.

Thanks for all your responses, they proved very helpful. :winky:
