The car that was stolen last monday, has been recovered! :D Still in one piece too

Only thing that is annoying, is that its been sitting in an impound yard for a week (since last thursday) which both the police and my insurance company knew, but no one told me

Well anyway, car's at Lexus now to be inspected, and then once their engineer approves it, the keys and locks will be replaced, and the car will be back where it belongs :winky:

It was found on a private site (sort of monitored by one of these private clamping firms) somewhere in N12. The security guard said that they normally park them somewhere like that to see if the car has a tracker as on private land the police won't see it, and only the tracker will draw them in

Nah, no one's been arrested, and more interestingly, they haven't found any prints on the car at all (how could what seems to be joy-riders, have been organised enough to use gloves  )

I would suggest contacting these private clamping firms to see if they've got any cars matching that description

Hmm .... yes I am aware of this .... usually the cars are parked at random locations, to see if it has a tracker, ....... this is usually left near a tube / train station.

Strange .... I'll look into it later @ work mate ........ and see what happened !

Would be wicked if you could look into it, would be nice to know if there's any info that the police aren't telling us (cos we haven't really heard anything from them at all)

Yeah its great news, bit of damage to front wing but otherwise seems ok

Sounds like they also use the private land as a "deadletterbox", as a drop off and collection.................

with the keys being transferred by Courier or post

Do they really do that? Didn't think they were that organised

So I guess they shouldn't have parked it in a car park that was patrolled

i heard today from my audio and alarm specialist that top car theves use a pen like object with an LED on it.they approach a car of there choice and press the gadjet ,if it lights up etc it shows them it has a tracker so to leave alone and go to the next one, these pens exist and are defo used by top car theves.anyway pleased youve got it back mate. :)

I don't really know how the HPI status were to work on this, but..

If he were to sell, would that fact that it was stolen and recovered be shown?

According to Lexus, as its been found it'll be taken off the register, but not too sure

Sorry mate, was out on Thursday, and then had to sort it all out on Friday :P

not after I saw the way they drove it out of that car park ..........

Thats one thing that's been worrying us too, not sure whether to just p/ex it for another one

If the lex report comes back 'A' ok, and the car seems fine, you may just want to keep it. Have a look at the fuel gauge like you said it was quarter tank..

Or if it was in the dealer very recently ask them to tell you the mileage the have down for it. Then you can kind of get an idea of how far its travelled. But yeah it won't say how its got there..

I've already checked the fuel guage, and they didn't go that far at all, probably only about 20 miles or so, cos the car was found not far from our house (I know cos when I had the wheel alignment done by Tony, I reset the trip 'B' so I would know when I had done 2000 miles to have it checked again)

Its my mum that is more uncomfortable with it, I just glad it's back!
