Bought mine at the launch during last years NEC motor show.

I've stuck the small magnetic disc on the dash just above the sat nav screen and use the coil type power lead from the lighter to power it.

I the push the lead into the air vent on the right side of the screen, only enough so that it stops pulling on the road angel unit itself and thus stops it swiveling around when in use. This way it can be removed and installed again in no time,

I found the windscreen mount looked too gash and was not so easy to keep removing when parked up.

Works a treat although sometimes it can take a little while to first aquire a signal.

I did try that position but it kept swivelling round despite the flex being tucked into the vent. Also fell of once when going over speed bumps and again when I went round a corner a little (ahem) briskly.

So moved to the magnetic windscreen mount as I said above. When stopped, you just grab the unit off the mount and stick in the glove box without unplugging - you don't have to take the mount off the windscreen.

I only have two probs with my chosen position..

1) not so convenient if I have a passenger (rare for me though)

2) sometimes hard to read early in the morning (but that's due to my bleary eyes and the distance, not a limitation of the machine !)

...and yeah it takes an age to get online with the sats..

Hi MST,just thought i would mention that if your positioning it to the side of the car, it will NOT pick up any rear laser hits!!, sa it will not have a clear veiw.best regards John. :driving:

Hi guys, just bought the new Road Angel 2 GPS system. Will it work on the dashboard ok?, I have just been told the windscreen is UV resistant and Heated will this affect the signal?.

Hi

I got one of these when they 1st came on the market and if you have a heated screen then you are advised to fit the optional antenna, works fine on my dash and I regually move it from one car to another, just make sure you keep downloading the updates.
