Hi all

I have the following case, I have only one ignition key for my GS300 car, and this key is broken it means the metal part of the key is disconnected from the remaining part which include doors lock and unlock, I have tried to start the car but I can not while I am able to lock and unlock the doors and open the bag, I have contact my local agent in SA and they said you must change the whole security system and it will take around 1 month to deliver and around 1200 US$ cost for you, what I would like to ask is there any way to re-program the key again to slove the problem or even just order new key then program it again without changing the whole security system, since I can not wait for 1 month without car also the cost is too much 1200 US$.

Please I need your help.

Depending on what system is on the car,If its like the IS200 if you have lost all keys or they cannot be used in the ignition a full lock set and Alarm ECU have to be replaced. If its possible for the broken key to be used in the ignition then they shouldn't be a problem in ordering a replacement key and reprogramming it which costs in the UK aprrox £150 +vat

Damn, Man!

£150 for a replacement key?? *so glad my baby came with two masters and a valet (grey) key... only thing I didnt get was the little plate with the number on. guess I shouldn't need it in a hurry...

maybe this guys key don't work cos the transponder is not near enought to the dash mounted receiver? has he tried starting it with the remote assembly in situe. Worth a try cos if it starts then he knows he just needs order another key... or get some real strong glue?
