Series 2 Stereo Lcd Problem

Hi, new to the forum.

I have a 1995 series 2 LS400 that has a problem with the stereo LCD display.

It is possible to control the stereo from the rear seat via a controller in the arm rest as well as from the controls in the dash.

The problem I have is that the LCD display for the stereo (not the climate control) is broken. Everything else works fine.

I'm considering buying an MP3 player as a replacement for the unit, but I'm a bit worried about the sort of finish I'll get as the current stereo doesn't fit a standard sized hole.

Does anyone know where I can get a conversion type plate that will fit nicely into the gap if I remove the original radio? I've seen sites advertising conversion plates for the series one LS400, but not for the series two.

Ideally, I'd like to keep the controls in the rear operational as well, but I guess that would be too much to ask for. Not the end of the world either.

I don't wish to teach you to suck eggs but is the problem with the smaller of the screens being completely black?

If so are you aware that this only works when the audio is in radio mode it is off in tape and CD play mode.

Hi I have a ls 400 96 my radio lights completely went out, [just the lights]but everything works fine,I took it out and apart, could not find any problems .so I put it back in,Do you know if there is a special fuse somewhere,? Maybe they just pack up,and a new radio might be the way to go.If anyone has any info please let me know. similar problem so good luck
