Leak From Header Tank Pipe At Manifold Causing 02

Does anybody know why a coolant leak from the manifold pipe as it joins the head show cause the 02 sensor to malfunction, thereby affecting the idling speed. This causes the engine to stall when pulling up to junctions if the air con is on and the steering is turned. Does anybody have a manual illustration that will show this area of a 1995 LS 400? :excl:
