i'm wanting to install an amp and sub in my rx. i have the pioneer oem head unit with the a/c and center display controls integrated into it. it doesn't have rca jacks built in. are there any products out there so i can replace the head unit with something aftermarket and still use my a/c and display? if not, how can i hook up the amp without hard wiring it into the head unit?

If you're feeling brave, check my workshop paper

You seem to have a 3-slot DIN rack like my 2000 ES300. The Pioneer radio head unit simply occupies the top 2 slots. I think we can put in any 1 or 2 DIN head unit. I am going to buy the Kenwood DPX-MP4030 http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-FUHjp...fo&i=113DPX4030. I'm trying to check to see if the 2 connectors on my OEM Pioneer are standard connectors.

or you can use line level converters,to take the speaker signal to power an Amp

the problem on lexus is they use active systems which means the headunit/amp work in conjunction with each other, and either wont really work without the other
