Steering wheel vibrating

My new car seems to be running OK, except however I noticed a slight vibration coming through the steering wheel at around 60 mph. Goes by 70. It also feels much lighter at the wheel than my old SE. 150 miles today, should be run in by next weekend!

My suspicion is wheel balancing.

Haven't had that on my Lexus but had a similiar problem when driving my husbands car a while back. It was the wheel weight that had come off - maybe that's happened to yours? I'd say that or the wheel alignment.

The voices of experience will offer their insights soon and are more mechanically minded. Hopefully that'll give you some more ideas to look at.

I agree with Claire - best place to start is to get your front wheels accurately balanced.

Wheels all resolved. Apparently it was the "3rd one they'd seen like this recently". hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Enjoyed playing with crayons for an hour with my son in the showroom. Free cup of water and an hour wasted on Saturday. Still mustn't grumble :-)

Was it the wheel balance then? Looked to me like you might have shed a weight (since they are stick on weights on the inside of the alloys) - come off very easily

Yeah, it was wheel balancing. What are those damn numbers on the insides of the wheels ? Very nice, I'm wondering if my new car has refurbished wheels on, great thought :-)
