central locking alarm probs!!!

well finished work at 11pm:( went to car and pressed the key fob as norm and nothing happened at all, tried again and nothing - im getting rather wet by now (rain) then i hear the doors unlock. drive to the hotel then it decides not to lock now, imobiliser working though, this morning same story couldnt lock/unlock, checked the fuses all ok, so its dealer time and guess what? yep it was working fine when i got there - as they are looking at me like an idiot:P but they did say that if ur near high power cables this can affect the sensor/transmitter. so just be aware people!!! if it happens again then i will take it back and have it put on the diagnostic.

this is caused by the rolling code in the key and the car going out of sync.

Once you put the key in and drive to the dealers - its synced up again.

If it goes out of sync - press lock / unlock / lock / unlock for a bit - should catch back up again.

I was told electro-magnetic fields could cause it - I suspect that it was a result of keeping my keys in the same pocket as my mobile.

Don't do that anymore - and the problem has not re-occured.

There was this interesting feature on the pegeout 406 Saloon problem where someone could get into your boot with bare hands and nick contents! Very scary!

i have found that if i park in a different part of the car park then it works fine - strange as i have been parking in the same place for the past week mmmmm???

On certain streets and car parks, my Clifford alarm remote on the old motor wouldn't work. In close proximity were either a phone mast (I kid you not) or a mast for emergency vehicle radio.
