Stereo Upgrades ?

Hi,

So got my new RX300Se yesterday and love it, BUT, after coming from my BMW with the Harman/Kardon upgraded stereo the Lexus's sounds a bit flat... with not enough bass. I think I was spoiled with the last one..

So anyone looked into minor upgrades ? Is it worth swapping the speakers alone to better quality aftermarket ones ?...generally standard ones are not the best.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Pity they save the Mark Lewinson for the SE-L only, that is one upgrade I might have forked out the £'s for...

I replaced all my speakers and it made an enourmous difference

I can see why you want to. I got an RX as a courtesy car today and the base is even worse than on the post-2001 IS's stereo. I'm glad I've got a 2000 model IS. How can they sell a £35k motor with such a poor stereo?

Anyone any ideas on the speaker sizes ?? I have a lovelly set of Alpine 6" x 9" in the loft but get the feeling they will be staying there :(

I cant beleve you lot think the standard stereo is so bad, I think mine is fantastic, try listening to better music! :-)

if you want good sound you need to go for dls or maybe audiobahn ( sweet )!!!

Had my car since last Tuesday, and still think stereo is not that good... new speakers will be first thing I try.

And then I have to work out how to get a cradle etc for an iPOD :D

Unbelievable,I think the sound system is incredible!!

not compared to the BMW Harman / Kardon setup... no where near the clarity of bass etc... Just my opinion but never the less a weekness...
