Hi,

my 1998 GS300 has really grungy looking chrome tail-pipes. They look way past the point where a chrome cleaner would help. I wanted to get some new ones but my local National Tyres garage had a look whilst it was in getting a couple of new tyres and said the chrome bits were welded on and that I would have to replace the whole back box

Anybody replaced theirs? any other ideas?

thanks

Any performance exhaust place should be able to fix you up and weld new ones of your choice on. When I had my stainless steel back box fitted I had a choice of tailpipes.

I got some from eBay in the US

they were advertised as for GS300 but they were actually ones designed to bolt on, but I removed the bolt on parts and the metal covers slid over the originals

they were very tight and I warmed them up in front of the fire for a few hours and fitted them when the weather was icy cold
