vvt-i came out at the end of 1997. The series I does not have it, nor did it have the earlier version vvt.

The first Lexus models to have it were the GS300 series II and the LS400 MKIV, both launched in this country in 1998.

I informed Lexus about the incorrect spec on their web site a year or two ago - seems they cannot be bothered to give customers correct information.
