What Is "cruising Range" ?

So, on my SE one of the displays on the computer is "cruising range"...but I'm not sure that I understand what it is, is it;

1. Miles till I run out of Petrol ?

2. Miles till low fuel light comes on ?

3. Something else ?

Hopefully a simple question...

:D It's number one, but it's not accurate, it's an estimate.

Hi,

it's miles till your petrol runs out. I know this because I've run it down till the Cruising Range read 5km, and the low fuel light came on way before (not entire sure when it came on.. probably around 60-80km on the crusing range). It's based on the average consumption for your current journey.

Doesn't know how much is left in the tank only what has come out of it. If you always leave 10l in the tank it will get to 0 miles with 10l left in the tank. Once you take it below it recalculates and gives a more accurate result on the next tank.
