Dvd Satnav Issue.

Recommended Posts

Anyone noticed an issue with the DVD Sat NAV that instructs you that a slight right turn is approaching but the directon arrow points to the left. It seems to happen only in a particular spot.........

am keen to here is anyone else has seen similar things happenig...

Nope, mine never misses a beat. Amazingly patient while you take a shortcut and she politely tells you the next direction. Just waiting for the day when she exclaims 'which part of left turn didn't you understand'!

from what i hear, various teams go out and map their assigned local area using local knowledge - hence small missing parts on the map like small roads and tracks etc.

I travel a lot and have noticed a fair few missing places and roads (old ones!) and I've had the nav tell me to turn one way way it means the other way too (very occasional).

Still, the Sat Nav is invaluable - i wouldn't have a car without it.

I haven't heard a different voice yet, but I do like the way they guess some of the phonetics...

One of my local towns is Fareham in Hampshire (pronounced 'fair-ham').

On leaving the motorway she refers to it as 'far-ham'!

There must be some more places tey have got slightly wrong.

I was in the Midlands earlier this week and needed to come off the M6 towards Wednesbury. I was amused to hear those dulcet tones tell me to take the exit to Wednesday!! Strangely it was Wednesday!!!!!!!!!
