I use Mobil1. This is Lexus "factory" oil in Norway.

on the service they used magnatec, but i would just use any good synthetic oil.

Yep Castrol too - mind you I have used BP before too. Don't seem to make a huge amount of difference though...

All I see is brands but what I would find really interesting is the oil SPEC.

The brand says absolutely nothing!!!

I would like to know thickness and quality (api spec).

Those are the things that tell something about the oil.

I always found that an equal parts mix of olive oil and ann summers erotic body oil works best. Maybe a touch of tabasco too:o Only kidding - I have always used Mobil 1 and found it excellent

i use redline oil. 10w-30 in the summertime and 5w-30 in the winter time. i use it in my cbr 929 motorcycle and it works like a charm. :tumble:

Being a fairly new Lexus owner owing to the bottom covers I have not yet looked under the car. Its just had a 2 yr service by Lexus .

My questions are basic:a)Are the covers easy to take off as I have no car ramp?b)Is the oil filter easy to access?

On all the cars I have had in the past the Castrol GTX Magnatec has been the oil I have used. I have carried out my own oil changes apart from major servicing.

you will idealy need a ramp to remove the bottom covers.....there are about 20 screws in it.......the filter is easy to access when its off though
