ok i spoke to 3 lexus dealers today and got three different answers to my question of when should the cambelt be changed

they said the following

1. " at 60 000 miles sir "

2. " at 60 000 miles or 6 years sir, whichever comes first sir "

3. " at 100 000 miles sir "

:o

now can anyone on here give me the definitive answer, i thought it was answer no.2 but the first guy was adamant it was only at 60000 miles regardless of age.

any help appreciated

cheers chris

thanks guys, just goes to show there doesnt appear to be a definitive answer on this veryimportant question ,

i think i might email lexus gb and see if i can get a definitve answer.

cheers chris

The cambelt change on a Lexus LS 400 1998, is at 63,000 miles. No need to change it any sooner than that.

well i emailed lexus gb and there answr was 63000 miles also with no mention of the age of the car,

but my question is surely the belt wears with age aswell as use, so if the car is almost 7 years old it needs replacing, otherwise im gonna get to the situation where the car is gonna be around 12 years old before it gets to 63000 miles, that seems along time for a cambelt to stay on.

anyway at least i know now i can relax for another 45000 miles :D
